1 Who handles your information
Blue Hill Foundry, LLC operates Makefew and is responsible for the information described in this notice. Blue Hill Foundry, LLC is located in Chapel Hill, NC. Contact contact@makefew.com. This notice covers Makefew’s website, maker tools, orders, messages and support. Third-party services linked from Makefew have their own notices.
2 Information we collect
You provide your email, name, delivery address, order details, notes and communications when you buy, ask a question or contact support. Telephone numbers are collected where provided for delivery or a seller’s shipping setup. Waitlist signups include your email and the product you selected. We keep ratings and their order association to determine eligibility and calculate store ratings.
Maker accounts also include profile and store information, product uploads, private shipping details, account permissions, password hashes, authentication and recovery records. Public store and listing information is displayed on the website; private shipping defaults and customer records are not public listings.
We receive payment references, status, amounts, fees and refund or dispute information from PayPal, and shipment, label and tracking information from shipping services. Payment card entry occurs with PayPal. Makefew does not ask for or intentionally store card numbers, expiration dates or card security codes. Please do not include them in messages or uploads.
Our systems and service providers receive technical information such as IP address, browser information, request times, visited resources, security events and session identifiers. Email delivery records may show that a message was sent, delivered, delayed, bounced, suppressed or reported as spam. Delivery is not proof that you read the email.
3 Why we use it
We use information to run the website; authenticate makers; process and fulfill orders; provide private order access; send receipts, fulfillment updates and requested product notifications; handle returns and support; publish eligible ratings; prevent abuse; investigate problems; and maintain accounting, tax and legal records.
Joining a product waitlist asks for notifications about that product. Buying an item does not subscribe you to a general newsletter. We do not use customer information for unrelated marketing without the appropriate permission.
4 Who receives it
Authorized store personnel receive the information needed to fulfill and support their own orders and conversations. This includes Blue Hill Foundry and invited makers operating their own stores on Makefew. Makefew administrators may access relevant records for support, security and operations. We do not publish buyer email addresses, delivery addresses or private messages as part of store ratings.
Service providers support hosting and storage, email, payment, tax calculation, shipping and business communications. Our launch services include Render, Resend, PayPal, Stripe Tax and, when a label or shipping service is used, Shippo and the relevant carrier. For tax calculations, Stripe receives the delivery and shipping-origin addresses, product tax classifications, quantities, prices and shipping charges. Stripe Tax calculates tax; PayPal processes the payment. Google also receives browser requests for fonts and any video you choose to load. Provider roles and their own uses of information can differ, particularly for payment, carrier and embedded-media services.
We may disclose relevant information when legally required, to investigate fraud or protect rights and safety, or to professional advisers under appropriate confidentiality duties. A business transfer may include records subject to applicable law and the privacy commitments made when they were collected.
5 Cookies and third party requests
Makefew uses necessary cookies and similar mechanisms for sign-in, security and the operation of requested features. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some features may stop working. Private order access also uses signed links.
Our pages load fonts from Google. The YouTube video player loads when you choose it; Google or YouTube may then receive further device and activity information and use its own storage. PayPal’s payment controls also connect your browser to PayPal and may use cookies or similar technology. Those providers explain their practices in their privacy notices.
Makefew does not use advertising trackers or sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Makefew does not change its own processing in response to the legacy browser Do Not Track signal. Where applicable law requires an opt-out preference signal to be honored, we will honor it. Third-party interactions may be subject to the providers’ own controls. Contact us with questions about these choices.
6 Retention security and location
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, considering open orders, returns, disputes, account activity, security, recordkeeping requirements and legal claims. Different records may need different periods. We delete or deidentify records when no longer needed, subject to legal holds and backup recovery cycles. Ask us about a particular record at contact@makefew.com.
We use safeguards intended to protect information and limit access to authorized people and services. No website or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your private links and authentication credentials confidential. Makefew operates in the United States; providers may process information in other locations under their own arrangements.
7 Your choices and requests
Email contact@makefew.com to request access, correction or deletion, or to ask about other privacy rights available where you live. You may also request a copy of your information, withdraw consent where relied on, or object to processing where applicable. We verify identity proportionately and respond under applicable requirements. Some records must be retained for transactions, security or legal duties; we will explain relevant limits. Where available, you may appeal by contacting us, use an authorized agent, or complain to your privacy regulator. We will not unlawfully discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
Use the unsubscribe link in a product notification or email us to stop marketing messages. Essential order, security and legally required communications may continue. Declining optional information may limit the feature that needs it. Public content may remain in another person’s independent records even after we remove it from Makefew.
8 Children AI assistance and changes
Makefew is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied it so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
At launch, automated systems help route notifications and protect accounts. We do not send identifiable customer support records to generative AI services. If we introduce AI-assisted support using personal information, we will first update the relevant disclosures, establish appropriate provider protections and obtain any consent required by law. A human remains accountable for support decisions.
We will post changes with a revised effective date and provide additional notice or seek consent when required. A revised notice does not automatically authorize an incompatible new use of previously collected information.
